KAVU-TV
Before moving into brand and corporate video production, I spent time in broadcast news, anchoring, reporting, and producing in a live, deadline-driven environment. That experience built a foundation I still draw from every day, writing clearly under pressure, staying composed on camera, and knowing how to find and tell a story fast.

What the role involved
I anchored weekend newscasts, produced daily rundowns, wrote scripts from scratch, and managed the live elements of each broadcast, coordinating with reporters in real time while keeping the show on schedule. In the field, I covered breaking news, community stories, and government proceedings, often arriving with minimal lead time and reporting live with whatever I had.
The pressure of broadcast news sharpens skills that are hard to learn anywhere else. You learn to write tight, speak naturally, adapt instantly, and stay calm when things go sideways, and something always does.
